Posted on 30.11.2018

Womp, 1st floor studios, Lion Works, Ball Street, Sheffield, S3 8DB (see map)
30th Nov / Doors: 7pm Performance: 7.45pm / Free / More here

Womp was supported through Making Ways Open Call funding to deliver a programme of curated exhibitions, events and studio exchanges aiming to support the development of emerging and early career artists.  tonsillitis sux! – an all singing, all dancing performance exploring the insides and outsides of Ollie Musson’s body – is the first in this event series. The performance will explore the effects of illness, trauma and gender dysphoria. How do we care for ourselves whilst struggling against medical gate-keeping? How do we rest when the rest aren’t resting? How do we keep fighting whilst looking after our broken, leaking bodies?

Ollie is a queer non-binary performer who has been working in residence in Womp Studios to develop this new work.

This event forms part of Making Ways, a programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.
