Posted on 15.08.2017
Orchard Square Shopping Centre, Craft Units Upper Level, Sheffield S1 2FB
Saturday 19 August – Drop-in 10am-8pm – FREE
Make a game on the theme of virtual pets. You can make anything you want, but if you like cute animals then chances are you’ll find like minded people who want to make adorable games! Bring a laptop or prototype on paper or just drop-in and find out what’s happening. Artists and game developers, beginners and experts alike are all welcome.
Zoyander Street is running a game jam as part of his residency at Orchard Square on the theme of virtual pets. You can make anything you want, but if you like cute animals then chances are you’ll find like-minded people who want to make adorable games.
Don’t worry about your level of skill. Everybody who works with games is constantly just figuring things out as they go along. Beginner’s guides will be available on a few methods of game making that are relatively easy, so that you have some first steps to get you started. If you get stuck, other people will help you to get unstuck 🙂
It’s not easy to finish something in a day, so if you come first thing at 10am you’re more likely to get something out of the jam, but no worries if you turn up later. This is an informal, non-competitive jam where you won’t be expected to work in a group if that’s not your thing.
The Computer Petting Zoo forms part of Making Ways, a new programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.Making Ways, Uncategorized
