Sheffield City of Makers

Connecting the North (pt1)

A street artist whose work adorns a growing number of places around Sheffield, London, Liverpool and Bristol. Rob is making spaces beautiful through his industrial stylised work. His precision to the detail of his angles, lines and consistency, complement the colours he works with.

For the Year of Making commission Rob wants to make the city beautiful for the people of Sheffield, but through the development of this 3D mural, he will no doubt bring additional life and vivid colour to the city for visitors too.

This piece takes its inspiration from the three-letter alpha codes used to denote transport stations. For Sheffield this is SHF; the lines hint at the importance of transport connections, the trains and perhaps the canals, their relevance to an industrial age when Sheffield steel products provided structure to the world.
