Please note: This opportunity is only available to artists and curators based in Sheffield, UK.

Established in 2002, Bloc Projects is an artist-led project space in the center of Sheffield, providing a platform for early-mid career artists, encouraging experimentation, collaboration across disciplines and critical dialogue among artists, audiences and partners in the city and further afield.

In order to develop international links between artists and organisations Bloc are offering Sheffield-based artists and curators the opportunity to embark on a week long exchange and development programme of talks, seminars, studio visits and workshops in Bergen, Norway.

The visit will foster collaborations with local arts organisations via seminars, open days and workshops held across the city.

The exchange is scheduled to take place between the 15th – 19th October 2018.

Following the exchange, the selected artists are invited to stage an event/exhibition relating to their time in Bergen. This may include works or contributions by artists and curators based in Bergen.

Bloc Projects will provide:

  • 5 days accommodation in Bergen
  • Return flights to Bergen
  • A structure for the week including workshops, seminars, studio visits and informal meetings
  • Support and budget for an event in the UK following the exchange

Bloc Project’s Artist Development Programme is part of Making Ways, a programme supported by Sheffield Culture Consortium through Arts Council England to showcase, celebrate and develop the exceptional contemporary visual art produced in the city.
